My name is Breiana Wells -Nickerson, and I am simply in love with cheerleading & dance.
I was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. I have earned the name Coach Bre through 28 years of experience.
My background includes social work, dance, ballet, cheerleading and coaching. I started ballet at the age of 7 and cheering at the age of 9.
Some years were more challenging than the others. There were times I did not make the team. Even though I did not always make the team, I never stopped trying.

I had many wonderful experiences growing up and would like to share my knowledge and passion with the next generation. During my ballet career, I performed in the Nutcracker in Peoria Illinois with the Ballet company.
I was a cheerleader in middle school and high school. My varsity years, I was chosen cheer captain. With hard work and dedication, I tried out for cheerleading in college and made the team! In fact, I received a Cheer Scholarship for the University of Missouri.
It was a awesome experience and a honor to cheer at the collegiate level.
After college, I wanted to passionately pursue my love and creativity for cheerleading so I became a cheer coach. I've coached for local high schools in Saint Louis Missouri, Chicago Illinois and a few in Peoria Illinois.
Currently, I am the Head Varsity Cheer Coach at Peoria Heights High School and Owner & Director of Coach Bre Cottage, LLC.
Through all my experiences, I was able to learn diverse styles of cheerleading and dance. At every school where I have coached, we always brought home the coveted first place Banana at UCA Varsity Cheer Camp.
Throughout my 28 successful years of dancing, cheering and coaching, I have learned that cheerleading is such an amazing sport.
Every state and even within each city, different styles of cheering is utilized. Also, I was able to experience many styles of dance under the umbrella of being a cheerleader.
When I trained with the Saint Louis Rams Cheerleaders, we were professional cheerleaders and our routines included a variety of dance styles including hip hop, jazz, ballet, lyrical and majorette. Showcasing how cheerleading intertwines many styles of dance.
To be a professional cheerleader, you must be well rounded in many styles of cheerleading and dance. Us Cheerleaders have a saying, “Cheer Is Life”.
Being a role model and a mentor naturally, cheerleading has become my life.
I pride myself on creativity, dedication, spirit and commitment to the youth I serve. At Coach Bre Cottage, A Cozy Cheer & Dance School we are a family.
